Fun Night Out/ Valentine's Make-Up Look

HELLO everyone! Ever since I bought the Too Faced , "Pretty Rebel" palette, I wanted to experiment with all of the fun colors, especially the pink color. I thought that a Valentine's look or just a night out look would be the perfect opportunity to use this color. This look is full of different shades of pink, and I really liked how it turned out! Enjoy!

First things first, the face. After applying moisturizer, and the Benefit POREfessional primer, it;s time for foundation. I mixed two of my favorite face products, Dr. Jart's Beauty Balm, and Benefit's, "Hello Flawless," foundation.

I used a damp beauty blender (any damp sponge will do!) to apply this mixture all over my face.

My chin area and portions of my cheeks have been acting up recently, so I used my E.L.F concealer to make sure all of my red spots were covered!

This day in particular, I had a MONSTER of a zit on my cheek and so I used my Sonia Kashuk concealer to dab over it and then blend it in with the beauty blender. You can also use the warmth of your finger to blend the concealer over problem areas.

To conceal my under eyes, I used E.L.F's concealer and highlighter duo.

I used the pointed end of my beauty blender to blend in this product under my eyes.

To make sure my foundation and concealer stayed put for the night, I finished off my face with Benefit's Hello Flawless powder (all a part of my favorite Benefit kit, "How to look the best at everything."

I always finish my face powder off with a touch of tone correcting powder. This powder is the tone correcting powder from E.L.F and I concentrate it around my T-zone.

Using my favorite Naked Basic's palette, from Urban Decay, I filled in my brows with the color, Naked 2.

My all time favorite eyebrow gel is the Anastasia eyebrow gel. Put this on your brows, and they will stay put the entire day!

To give my face a warm glow, I used a stipple brush and applied some bronzer to my cheeks and temples.

Since this is an all pink look, of course you need rosy cheeks! I used a NYX stick/cream blush in the color, "Water Lily" and applied this with a small stipple brush on my cheeks.

One of my favorite products to prime my eyelids is to use E.L.F's shadow stick in the gold color.

To give my eyelids an overall neutral basic color, I used my "Newport Nights" Wet-N-Wild eyeshadow palette and applied the yellow color all over my eyelid.

Taking a smaller brush, I applied the bright pink color to my eyelid, focusing on the inner half towards my nose.

Next, using the same brush, I used the color, "Totally Fetch," from my Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette. I mean does that color not scream, AMAZING?!

To add more color, I decided to put a pop of gold on my eye. Using the color, "Instigator," from my Pretty Rebel palette, I applied this shade with a flat eyeshadow brush focusing on the out half of my eye.

To blend the two colors together, I went back to my, "Newport Nights," palette and used the brown shade and a blender brush to blend everything together.

For a highlight color, I used this nudey pink from the Wet-N-Wild palette.

Finished eye color!

Now for liner! I used Loreal's Blackbuster liquid eyeliner to line my top lash line. If you want to get really fancy, you could definitely wing this eyeliner out on the top lash line!

For my lashes, I grabbed my new favorite mascara, Loreal's Lash Out Butterfly mascara and put a few coats of this on both my top and bottom lashes.

What's a Valentine's look without pink lips? For my lips, I used one of the lipsticks from Maybelline's Vivid collection. I love this line of lipsticks! So pigmented, yet creamy and gorgeous! I used to NEVER wear lipstick, and hated wearing any color of my lip. Now, it is one of my favorite parts of any make up look. It can really throw an entire make up look together. Don't be afraid to be daring and wear a bold lip color on your lips!

For this look, I used the color, "Vivid Rose."

Love the pop of the pink lips!

Finished look!

I hope everyone enjoyed this Valentine's look, and can use some of these tips to create your own Valentine/night out look! Until next time! STAY WARM!!

January Favorites!

HAPPY FEBRUARY!!

Seriously, where did the month of January go? I feel like it was just Christmas and New Years, and now it is already February!! January was a good but COLD month! I hope everyone stayed warm and safe after all the crazy snow and ice. I have wanted to start making videos, and I thought I might start with a video for February's favorites or maybe one before then? Let me know if you would like to see video posts on this blog!

I have been keeping my makeup routine fairly simple for the month of January, because my face is so dry and flaky and a lot of face products make it worse! Also, I hit the snooze button way too many times in the morning so I keep my make up simple and classy in the mornings. Anyways, onto my January favorites!

Beauty Favorites:

1. Kerastase Oleo Relax Hair Serum

This is the second Kerastase product that I have. The Kerastase products are more on the expensive side, but I think it is worth it. I have really curly hair around the crown of my head, and so I apply these serum to the hairs around my crown and then on the ends of my hair. I use a round brush to blow out my hair, and this serum makes the front of my hair SO SMOOTH. I also use this product after I style my hair. I use my Remington curling wand ALL the time, and after I finish curling my hair, I will spray some hairspray and serum into my hand and run these mixture through my curls. That way my curls will stay all day and they are not frizzy.

2. Michael Todd Intensive Eye Cream and the Eye O'Sonic

This is a combo product that I bought at the beginning of the year off of the Michael Todd website. I have always heard great things about this eye cream, and so I had to try it! This eye cream comes with a device called the "eye-o'sonic" and you use this to apply the cream under the eyes. It vibrates when it touches the skin and helps the eye cream absorb better into the skin.

3. Loreal Butterfly Mascara

I FREAKING LOVE this mascara! I did a product review on this mascara (read here!) and I have been using it ever since. This mascara rivals Benefit's ever famous, "They're Real," mascara. I keep both of those mascaras in my reach for everyday makeup, but I have been grabbing the butterfly mascara everyday! A tip; if you don't feel like applying eyeliner in the mornings (or whenever), apply your mascara as close to your lash line as possible, and it will make a small line on the lash line giving the effect of eyeliner!

4. My Z-Palette

I recently made my own Z-palette (read how to make your own here!), and it is quickly becoming my favorite palette. Instead of searching for my eyeshadow singles every morning, I can just grab this palette and swipe on some shadow very quickly!

5. Jordana's Gloss Stains

These have been a previous favorite, but they have been my go to lip for the month of January. I have been keeping my make up pretty simple this month, but it is always fun to spice up your look with a fun lip color! These lip stains are super pigmented and super cheap! They are available at your local Walgreens! These lip stains have AMAZING staying power! I apply these in the morning and the color will last through drinking my coffee , eating breakfast, and I usually don't have to reapply anything until lunch.

6. Covergirl's 3 in 1 Foundation with my Beauty Blender

My skin gets SO dry in the winter and so everytime I try to apply foundation, it will flake and cake up and I can't stand it! I have been using a damp beauty blender and my ever favorite drugstore foundation, and it gives a flawless finish to the skin without caking up.

7. Neutrogena's Powder Foundation

For days when I don't feel like applying a liquid foundation, I will just quickly dab my red/dark spots with concealer, and then apply this powder foundation all over my face. This product also contains SPF, which us fair skinned people love! This powder foundation has pretty good coverage and will keep you shine free all day!

8. Wet-N-Wild's Mega Glo

Another past favorite, I have been loving using this powder as a blush and bronzer for the month! Instead of applying bronzer and blush separately, I use a large stipple brush and swipe it over my cheeks and temples to give my face a warm glow!

Non-Beauty Favorites:

Music:
Songs that have been on repeat on my iPhone!
1. Beyonce's Drunk in Love -- I am obsessed. Queen B reigns again.
2. Beyonce's XO -- Along with Drunk in Love, this is my second favorite song on her album
3. Bastille's Pompeii -- Everything on Bastille's album is great, but this is my favorite!
4. Say Something-- A Great Big World -- I just got on this train after I heard it performed on GMA.
5. Dark Horse by Katy Perry --- I was a fan of this song a while ago, but became obsessed with it again after it has been playing on the radio
6. Lady Gaga's Gypsy -- A song after my own heart! So good.

Television Shows:
1. Teen Wolf
I know, the title sounds SO silly, but this show is NO joke. This show is not for the faint of heart. It has gotten DARK this season, which I have been loving. Check out the trailer for this season below and you will see what I mean.

And all of the guy's on the show are SUPER easy on the eyes!

2. Pretty Little Liars
My obsession with this show is a little out of control. If you haven't watched this show yet, no matter how old you are, check out the first 3 seasons on Netflix. The 4th season is getting really good because the girls are finally figuring some important stuff out and getting smarter (it is about time!). And the fashion and hair on this show is AMAZING.

3. The Following
So So creepy! This show started back two weeks ago and introduced the audience to some new characters that will give a new twist on the show. Another scary show that is not for the faint of heart!

4. The Bachelor
JUANUARY! I tell myself every year that I am not going to get hooked on the show, but I just can't help it... it is SO addicting. I am also participating in a Bachelor bracket with some other girls, and it is so fun! Who are everyone's favorite girls? I really don't have a set favorite, but Andi is a front runner for me!

5. Live with Kelly and Michael!
I have begun tivoing this show because both Kelly and Michael CRACK me up! Don't get me wrong, I loved Regis, but Michael is so hysterical and quick witted!

Movie:
1. The To Do List
Ya'll, THIS MOVIE IS EVERYTHING! I randomly picked this up at Redbox one night and I am pretty sure it might be my new favorite movie. It is HYSTERICAL. I immediately texted all my friends and told them they must check out this movie! Everyone that has watched it has loved it! It is an adult movie with a lot of adult content, but Aubrey Plaza is genius in this role. Go rent it, you won't regret it!

Blogs:
1. Thought Catalog
This site has a collaboration of random articles that different people write. I like to think of it as an adult Buzzfeed. I am always checking out this site and reading the articles before bed! Check it out here

2. In the Pursuit of Novelty
My friend, Christina, has a beauty blog, and I have been loving everything that she has been posting lately! She has great tutorials and product reviews! Go check her out here

Random:
1. Wint-O-Green Lifesavers
If you have been around me during the month of January, then you know I have had an OBSESSION with these. I carry them around in my purse and am also chewing on one. They are minty and refresh your breath, so what's not to love?

I hope everyone had a great month of January, and an even better February! Let me know what rocked your month! Until next time!
