New Years Eve Make Up

Hello everyone!

Thank you for coming to read my blog! Can you believe that 2014 is almost upon us?! CRAZY. I was watching the movie, Sex and the City, on tv the other day, and came across this clip.

This clip inspired me to create a New Year's Eve party make-up look for you all. I decided to use a lot of the things that I received for Christmas. I hope that you enjoy, and that you have a fun, safe, and HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Face:

These are the products that I used to do the base of my face make up. I started with my Christian Dior Creme De Rose lip balm (a Christmas gift and it is amazing!), and then primed my face with Ulta's Fabulous Face Primer. This primer is very comparable to Benefit's ever famous POREfessional face primer. I applied my Dr. Jarts Beauty Balm as a foundation, and then for any more pigmentation, I use my E.L.F full coverage concealer. I concealed my undereyes with Covergirl and Olay's undereye concealer.
For powder, I went to my trusty kit by Benefit and used this powder in the color, Champagne.
I applied the powder with my favorite brush from Real Techniques. Seriously, go buy these brushes because I love ALL of them!

Excuse my dry cracking cuticle... My hands get SO dry in the winter!
No one wants to look shiny on NYE, so I used my powder brush and dipped it in E.L.Fs Tone Correction Powder and concentrated it in my T-zone.
For bronzing, I went to my Samantha Ronson kit, and first used this brush to contour areas of my nose and cheeks.

Remember to make the fish face and apply the bronzer to the indentations of your cheeks!

Since it is NYE, why not go all out? I decided to do some contouring on my nose. By doing this, you will make the nose appear thinner.

To give my face more definition, I went with another brush and used it to further bronze my face.

I like to trace my jawline and then blend the foundation down my neck so that I don't have any orange streaks on my jawline, and to make sure everything is blended!

Bronzer complete!

My new favorite blushes have been these NYX blush sticks. I received several for Christmas and have loved trying them out. For this look, I am using the color, Hibiscus.

So, when applying blush, place your second and third finger on your cheek, and your blush should begin right next to where your middle finger hits your cheek.

To apply this type of blush, I dot it on my cheeks, and look like a cherub doll for about 3 seconds.

To blend this blush, I have been using my E.L.F stippling brush and LOVE it for this! I picked up this tip from Beauty Broadcast

Highlight time! I used my Sephora highlighter along with a Real Techniques contouring brush to highlight my cheekbones along with the bridge of my nose and my cupids bow.

Since NYE will be filled with a long night of dancing or hanging out with friends, I want my make up to stay put all night. I use Urban Decay's setting spray over my face to make sure my face make up stays all night.

Eyebrow time! I used my Naked Basics palette and the color, Naked2, to fill in my brows.

I have pretty crazy eyebrows that like to have a mind of their own. So, to make them stay put all night, I love to use Anastasia's clear eyebrow gel. WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Now, for the fun part.. EYES!

To start, I applied E.L.F's shadow stick in the gold color.

I applied this all over my eyelid and blended it in with my finger.

For eyeshadow, I was excited to use my new Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette. First, I used a shadow brush and the color, "Instigator," and applied this all over my eyelid.

Next, I took a a shader brush and took the color, "Badass," and applied it on the outer portion of my eyelid and in the crease.

I took a blending brush and went over, "Badass," to make sure everything was blended nicely.

Instigator and Badass.

Next, I took another shadow brush and took the color, "Jailbird," and lined the bottom lash line. I thought it would be fun to use both the gold and silver!

Eyes with Instigator, Badass, and Jailbird.

I love the way the silver looks along the bottom lash line!

I took the color, "Ringleader," and with a large blending brush, used this color to highlight my brow bone.

What is New Year's without a little glitter? :) I used this awesome glitter that I got from Sephora. It comes with a primer, and then I applied the glitter with my fingertips. I didn't want to overpower the eyeshadow, so I just used a little bit of the glitter.

I thought it would be really cool to line my water line in gold instead of the normal black. I used this gold eyeliner from Ulta.

To make the gold eyeliner in my water line pop even more, I used a eyeliner brush and went back to the color, "Instigator," and place it over the gold eyeliner.

Completed eyeshadow!

For eyeliner, I used Loreal's , The Infalliable Blackbuster, liquid eyeliner. I just traced the top lash line with this.

I think that false eyelashes would be great with this look. But, if you are like me and sometimes don't like fooling with them, I used two mascaras for a full out mascara look. I first applied my favorite, Benefit's, "They're Real," and then followed it up with Loreal's, "Telescopic," mascara.

Eyes are complete!

Now, LIPS! I didn't want to do too heavy of a lip color because I wanted my eyes to be the main attraction. I lined my lips with my Starlooks lipliner in the color, "Tipsy," and then used my NYX butter gloss on top of the lipliner. Ya'll, the butter glosses from NYX are SERIOUSLY AMAZING!! They smell just like frosting!

And, VOILA! Finished look!!!

I hope that everyone has a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Cheers to 2014!!!

Until next time,

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO SPARKLE!!! AND EVEN BRIGHTER ON NEW YEARS!!

XOXO,

Ally
